Caroline Picard will soon return from one of her numerous tours performing for our troops to an uncertain future. This national touring headliner lives in Galveston Texas and while she was in Iraq her home was hit by hurricane Ike. She is not sure what she will find when she returns home but it will look much like the place she has been performing, a war zone.
A favorite with the troops, Caroline has performed in Ramstein and Sembach, AB Germany, Darmstadt Army Base, Darmstadt Germany, La Madelina Navy Base, La Madelina, Italy, Sigonella Base, Sicily, Osan, Busan, Navy Seoul, Okinawa, Camp Shields, as well as Tokyo, Atsugi, Sasebo, Iwakunia, Yukota, Camp Zuma, Masawa, Yokuoska Bases in Japan, and NAS Bahrain, the Persian Gulf. She has over 12 world wide tours for the troops to date and loves performing for them.
An award winning, national and international touring comic for 14 years, this Louisiana-bred lady is fueled by Coors Lite, Crown Royal and a serious "HOT FLASH ATTITUDE". She calls her style of comedy "WSIWYG", WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET". "Hell, I'm 54, I'm all grown up, I say what I want, why? Because, I can. I've paid my dues, in more ways than one. I've worked for the phone company, most major Oil and Gas corporations as an Executive Financial Secretary, and I've run my own restaurant. I've been laid off, downsized, and with the restaurant, lost everything I owned.
I can still do the same things now that I did when I was 20, evidently I didn't get that "Now that you're over 50 you die" memo. I'm part of the "Boomer Generation, we listen to no one." "If you are easily offended, then leave my planet, it's time to grow up and get your head out of your ass, that's got to be uncomfortable."
Caroline will return home in mid September and will soon be on tour in comedy clubs and concerts through out the country. If you get a chance to see her straight shooting, comedy act in your town, go see her. This is one tough Cajun lady that won’t let Ike slow her down, and she will probably have a new tem minutes of material out of it. If you can’t see her live check her out online for some funny comedy clips.

Top-level comments on this article: (2 total)Mark, I like that you introduced lots of people to this lady. I hope and pray that her home situation following the hurricane will improve. I have a feeling she will continue to wow audiences that really appreciate a laughter break.Thank you Jane I am sure she will be ok what ever she finds when she returns home. She has been through a lot and finds humor in life's experiences. Thank you for the kind words.
Hey you guys, my apartment is just fine, but evidently Kia's cannot swim. Lost the truck but that will not stop me. Ike didn't beat Tina and I'll be damned if he will beat me. Mark's right got some new material from Ike and my 14 days in Iraq. The Queen is still rolling like a Cat 5 storm. What I have found out through this is that Texans and Cajuns wait for no government, we take care of business ourselves. Galveston is wounded, but not dead. They are working hard to bring her back, and by next summer she will be ready to welcome in and all back.
